Monday night will be a game that will be talked about for the entire future of mankind. The freezing cold temperatures mixed with the 50mph wind gusts made for a football game unlike any of us have seen before. During the tailgate, people’s tents were just flying away down the parking lot.
No matter which way you were facing, you were just getting blasted with wind in all directions somehow.
Bill Belichick trolled the entire city of Buffalo pregame by wearing a Navy mask in an interview. He developed a game plan that was complete and utter demoralizing bully ball. The Patriots ran the ball every single snap of the game except three plays, and there was absolutely nothing the Buffalo Bills could do about it.
It was impossible to throw the ball in the conditions, but the fact that the Bills could not stop New England and the Pats scored first on a 64 yard run, the Bills were forced to throw the ball. Daboll tried to run the ball, but the Buffalo offensive line along with the incompetence of our running backs made for a completely useless ground game.
The Bills got lucky on their touchdown thanks to a punt that was recovered after the ball went of Harry’s helmet which gave the Bills great field position with the wind at their backs.
In the 4th quarter, the Patriots led the Bills 14-10 and Buffalo had the ball 1st and goal from New England’s 6-yard line. You would think Daboll would let Josh Allen run the ball 4 straight times because he really is our best runner and the hardest player on the field to tackle, but no. Josh did not get one running play in that sequence and ended up taking a sack, forcing Tyler Bass to come out and kick an impossible field goal, which he missed.
The Bills got the ball back late, having to make a long drive and get a touchdown with the entire drive into the wind again. The drive fell flat on its face in the red zone once again.
This game wasn’t just a loss, it was a rip your heart out and stomp on it loss. All of my life we have lost to Bill Belichick, and just when we thought we had the leg up and were ahead of the Patriots, that game happens. Bills out coaches us again and laughs in the entire city’s face on the way out. Mac Jones won a football game going 2-3 passing. In 2021. How?!?
This game will live in infamy forever. The Bills head to Tampa Bay to take on another familiar owner of the Bills in Tom Brady. This is basically a must win game for the Bills and I think I speak for a lot of Bills fans when I say that we are probably fucked this Sunday.
My only spin zone on this upcoming game and for the playoff push is that this Bills team may not be built to play in their own stadium come December and January. The Bills best chance to win is in good conditions when Josh can throw the ball all over the yard.
I am sad, beaten, and demoralized. Win this Sunday.
The Picks from the Boys this week will be on hold until bowl games start as the only college game this Saturday is the Army Navy game. Dylan went a perfect 2-0 last week. Cheers.
