Trainwreck Kinda Daily: LeBron James is the NBA’s Greatest Scorer Ever

This blog is just pure emotion, wine, and vibes.

I’m sitting here typing this in my notes app at 11:11 PM. Not even joking look at this.

I just watched LeBron James become the All-Time leading scorer on a signature fadeaway jumper. And then Drake did this for some reason?

But really, can we just appreciate this moment together for a second?

I shared a little bit of what LeBron means to me personally on Twitter yesterday as well.

So now… imma turn this into a letter to all the haters.

WHAT DO YOU ALL HAVE LEFT TO SAY!?!?!?!?

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT TO ASK OF THIS MAN?

THEY SAID HE WAS OVERHYPED. HE WASN’T CLUTCH. HE WAS SOFT.

THEY SAID HE COULDN’T GET TO THE FINALS. HE WOULDN’T WIN IN THE FINALS.

THEY SAID HE WOULDN’T BEAT THE WARRIORS. HE WOULDN’T WIN A TITLE WITH THE LAKERS.

THEY SAID HE’S “NOT A SCORER”.

AND HE PROVED. EVERY. LAST. ONE. OF. Y’ALL. WROOOOOOONG.

Here’s the best part.

He’s not even close to done yet.

AND Y’ALL HATE ITTTTTT.

Alright, I just had to get that out.

Honestly, as a sporting community, I’m feeling blessed tonight. There are so few events in the world that we all experience together. But sometimes, the stars align.

Tonight the stars aligned.

LeBron needed 36 points to start the night. To me, it was obvious he was gunning for it even before he walked in with the all-black means business fit.

As he typically does, he started off the game letting AD get his touches and surveying the floor, picking his spots to attack against OKC.

And then the 2nd quarter started and he started rolling. The 3’s started falling. He was getting to the rim and the line at will. He had 18 in the first half, only 16 to go in the third.

Bronny told him to go ahead and get it. He did just that.

LeBron could not miss in the 3rd. Never mind the fact that the Lakers would need every single point, as they were battling to come back against OKC. LeBron wanted to get this shit done with so he could try and win a game.

With the entire arena cheering, phones in hand recording the moment, LeBron hits a patented fadeaway jumper over the OKC defender. The game stops as LeBron gets to celebrate the moment in front of Laker nation, his closest family and friends and some pretty famous celebrities. (The dap with Hov was everything to this Hov and Bron fan).

It was beautiful. It’s why you watch sports.

For many kids my age, LeBron will forever be the standard of greatness in our era. We watched his entire arc, from the most famous high schooler ever to the young hometown star with unbelievable expectations, to the Billionaire, Philanthropist and 4-Time champion he is today.

It’s a modern-day kid celebrity success story, a modern-day American success story. It’s legitimately the American dream.

LeBron’s story is well-documented. He came from very little and became one of the greatest success stories in the history of sports.

We will never see another like you, LeBron. And everyone, haters included, should cherish the greatness we have witnessed for 20 years and counting.

That’s all I’ve got. I’m gonna finish this vino like Bron would want me to and hit the hay.

And I’ll wake up in a world where LeBron is the greatest scorer in NBA history. Life is good.
