SOURCE: Brandon Beane Has Reached Out To Former Bills DE Shaq Lawson

Could Shaq be making a return to Buffalo?

A source has confirmed to Kevin Massare of Trainwreck Sports that Bills GM Brandon Beane is considering bringing Shaq Lawson back to the 716 following his release from the Jets. The Bills drafted Lawson in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played 4 seasons with Buffalo, amassing 16.5 sacks, including a career-high 6.5 in 2019, his final season with the Bills.

In the offseason following the 2019 campaign, the Bills defensive line took a bit of a hit, losing Lawson and DT Jordan Phillips in free agency. Lawson bounced around the AFC East, playing for the Dolphins in 2020 and then the Jets this year. New York announced his release earlier this week, after a season of inconsistent snap counts on defense, and even some play on special teams. Would you welcome back the former 19th overall pick?
