Folks! We’re back with Captain’s Picks this time for the College Football Playoff National Championship.
THE BACK STORY: We’ve got the Alabama Crimson Tide facing off against the Georgia Bulldogs. Both teams come into this game sitting at 13-1. The last time the Bulldogs took a loss was just over a month ago on December 4th, 2021 to guess who? The Crimson Tide. Alabama won that game 41-24. The last time the ‘Tide lost was way back on October 9th, 2021. This loss came from the will of Texas A&M.
THE SPOTLIGHT: Georgia has a stingy defense and their QB has a big arm. On the other sideline, I’m a big advocate for Alabama running back, Brian Robinson Jr. He’s coming off a big game where he had 25 carries and 198 yards rushing.
THE PREDICTION: The last time these teams matched up was nearly a month ago and Alabama handled them. We saw this matchup in 2017 where Alabama won the championship 26-23. These two have a rich history of battling in close games.
Alabama is looking for back to back titles after winning in 2020 while Georgia is looking to bring the ‘ship home which has evaded them since 1980. Kirby Smart will face off against his former boss, Nick Saban in a big 13-1 battle tonight for all the marbles.
