Gabe Davis — better known as “Big‑Game Gabe” — is officially back in Buffalo after weeks of buzz. The wideout is starting his return on the Bills’ practice squad as he works his way back from a torn meniscus, with eyes on rejoining the active roster once he’s fully healthy.

The Scoop:
- Gabe’s signing to Buffalo’s practice squad gives him time to recover and slip back into offense once he’s good to go. I suspect he’ll cpmete with Tyrell Shavers and even Codringotn for a roster spot once he’s healthy.
- During his Bills stint (2020–23), Davis totaled 163 receptions, 2,730 yards, and 27 TDs. And who can ever forget that wild playoff performance–201 yards and four touchdowns in perhaps the craziest postseason display ever?
- Following a large contract he signed with Jacksonville, the season did not work out so well. A meniscus tear only allowed him to grab 20 balls for 239 yards and two touchdowns, and he was released by the Jags this Spring.
- Meanwhile, Josh Allen’s been keeping it real. He’s been openly admitting he’s still a close buddy to Gabe: “I love Gabe. he was great while he was here,” Allen said before Davis’ recent ESPN.com visit. Worth a side note: Gabe even attended Allen’s wedding—it’s not about football; it’s family.

– 8 catches
– 201 yards
– 4 touchdowns
in a SINGLE playoff game.
He’s still very close with JA17, this is definitely worth a flyer for the Bills.

It’s always been about consistency and chemistry in Buffalo. Davis embodies that. He runs the playbook, he has lethal playoff reps, and if he’s at 100%, he’s a legitimate deep threat. He’s a nice boost to have back for the head coach—the if injuries occur factor makes him a loyal man who can easily step in
Gabe Davis tailgated back into Orchard Park—not quite leading the charge but on practice squad, getting right. When he’s healthy, he could be an actual contributing weapon again. And knowing his past in the locker room—especially Josh Allen—that comeback’s going to be home sweet home..
