The Buffalo Bills won their preseason finale last night against the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 27-23 thanks to a Tyree Jackson 2 minute drill ending in a "walk-off" TD bullet to David Sills with 8 seconds left on the clock. In a game where Tyree was possibly fighting to stay on the roster, I think he might have just done enough to warrant staying on as QB3. In week 1 the Bills topped the Colts 24-16 back on August 8th in Orchard Park. Week 2 featured a 27-14 victory over the Panthers in Carolina in a game that felt like a home game with how well #BillsMafia traveled. Last but not least week 3, the 24-20 win over the Lions in Detroit. We all know the last time a Buffalo team competed in Detroit it ended less than desirably. You may think that teams who end the preseason undefeated are destined for the Super Bowl but realistically, undefeated preseason teams only made it to the playoffs at a rate of 4 teams out of 10 since 2002. At that, those teams average just short of 8 wins a season so.... lets pray the Bills can slightly edge out history and pull out a 9/10 win season.
So Long Andrew, Best of...... Luck
Seems like it came out of nowhere but Andrew Luck officially announced his retirement the other day and about 99% of people applauded him for it. The 1% who didn't? The apparent Indianapolis faithful who booed him off the field after all Luck tried to do for them. The people should be booing the GM and owner who never cared enough to build a wall of Offensive Linemen around Luck so that his body would be broken down week after week after week. Andrew Luck loved the game so much that he was willing to put up with the ENDLESS rehab and ENDLESS beatdown... until he couldn't any more. There's not too much more you can ask of a man who lost his desire to play the game just because his team made half of his job waiting in an cycle of rehab, play, injury, rehab and repeat. There's not a doubt in my mind that Luck would be a guaranteed Hall-Of-Famer and to see how emotional he was getting by having to say goodbye so early, it just hurt to watch.
The Circus Is Coming To Town: Where's The Clowney
If you base your NFL Trade knowledge around anything the Why So Serious Podcast tweets, Jadeveon Clowney has been on a one way trip to Buffalo for the last 2 weeks. If you're reading this and want to find them on twitter and make fun of them for their "sources" then please be my guest, it would make my day. With that being said, obviously Buffalo is a destination for Clowney that's been tossed around in the last couple of weeks. Two other notable teams tied to Clowney's trade rumors are the Philadelphia Eagles and the Miami Dolphins. For the Eagles, yes Clowney would be an obvious upgrade for the defensive side of the ball but, as an Eagles fan, I would be afraid that the haul sent to Houston would be way too great to make the trade worth it. For Miami on the other hand, why not! The only name I've heard tied to that from the Dolphins would be Laremy Tunsil and if he's shipped out there's a reported revolt in the locker room bound to happen. So for what it's worth, outside of Miami, Philly and Buffalo, I haven't heard many other rumors for Clowney but I'm excited to see what happens if anything.
