Game three of the MAC season is underway in Buffalo tomorrow as the Bulls face the Miami Redhawks. Currently in our week 1 power rankings, this is a 1 vs 11 matchup with ESPN giving Buffalo a 96% chance to win this game.
That's pretty scary for a Buffalo Bulls team who was just given a 5 seed in the most recent bracketology by Joe Lunardi.
Miami RedHawks (8-7; 0-2 MAC) at No.19 Buffalo (14-1; 2-0 MAC) MAC Game 3: Saturday, January 12 at 12 p.m. Series vs. Miami and Streak: Miami leads 25-18 and Miami +1 Last Meeting: Miami 84 Buffalo 81 TV: CBSSN Radio: 1520AM with Josh Whetzel
All-Time: The RedHawks hold a 25-18 lead in the all-time series against Buffalo. The teams both won at home against each other last season
Miami hasn't won against a ranked team since 2001 and hasn't played one since 2014. This goes to show you that they generally schedule softer opponents and their play at times shows it.
Dalonte Brown, Darrian Ringo and Nike Sibande are the main weapons for Miami and they all caused UB some problems last year. UB actually had one of its 5 2018 losses (31-5 total record) against Miami on the road. Ringo is Miami's defensive gem. He averages 2.5 steals per game and also has 5.4 assists per game. A solid all around player that you never want to play against. Sibande and Brown are the main Miami offensive players. They average 16.2 and 15.3 respectively. Miami takes a lot of threes (over 27 per game) and only hit 33% of them.
UB is lead by its impressive 7-man rotation. Any game you can get the best from any one of these Bulls. This feels like a very guard heavy game tomorrow for Buffalo. It could be a game they decide to rest PG Devonta Jordan with his dislocated finger, giving Dontay Caruthers and Ronaldo Segu extended minutes. These are the games that are pivotal for Segu, Williams, and Fagan to get as much time as possible.
UB Is favored by 17.5 points and the game is officially sold out! For the public to turn out 6500+ tickets without students is very impressive. You go Buffalo.
